Wonderful Workshop!!

Today some of the members of the Enterprising Quilters Guild were treated to a wonderful workshop, taught by our Australian friend, Tania.  She and her family are here for military duty.  She taught us a piecing technique that allows you to add dimensional curves. We had a great time. Here are some pics:

Left block is straight piecing and Right block has the stitched curves.

The following are our instructor's samples:

The following are the patterns we used:

  2. What a great technique and a big difference between the two blocks. The example with the black background is just stunning. I may have to look into that technique! Will your blocks become a quilt? They're very pretty@

  3. Hi, Katie, I made 3 blocks and will make a table runner with them. I was able to use fabrics from my stash, so I was thrilled about that, but the blocks with solid backgrounds seem to really pop. I think these would be beautiful in batiks.

    1. It is really a fun technique. The tulips transform before your eyes as you complete your block.
